The Weekly Portrait: Isadora Duncan; dancer, lover, femme fatale

  1. I think of the way Isadora Duncan is said to have died - the scarf around her neck caught in the spokes of the car wheels and I shudder.

It seems almost obscene that a dancer such as Duncan who dances with scarves should die in this way. Thanks for this beautiful image.

  6. A beautiful picture, so full of movement. Not only was Isadora's death, in such a terrible way, too terrible to contemplate.
The death of both her children, again in a car accident, where the car rolled into a river and both children and their nanny drowned, must have been devastating.
    Such a tragic life.
