A Daunt Books treat on a hideous November morning

There is nothing like discovering a new Daunt Books whilst trudging through the wind and rain on the way to work. It is lucky that I had my camera with me... Here it is, large as life and twice as bookish on Cheapside. Workers of the city do not despair!

  2. Hannah,

Congratulations on the discovery. Unfortunately, where I live, Tucson, the opposite is happening: bookstores aren't appearing--they are disappearing.

  3. I miss book shops, here in Spain, and often yearn for Hodges Figgis in Dublin, where I used to while away hours.

  4. I dont even look at bookstores in Melbourne as the prices are exhorbitant but I like to browse and get the titles I want to get from the library!

  5. It looks like such a great bookstore! I always get joyful when I find a new bookshop. However, I am very jealous of people living in English-speaking countries. A bookshop full of English books, that must be heaven!

  6. oh I was so so happy to discover this Daunts a few weeks back. I used to walk past the Holland Park one on my way home from work and having moved jobs and home recently I'd been trying to discover my nearest/easiest book shop. And this is it.

  7. Oh my days i had no idea that was there!! How exciting! That's not too far from me at all, although I never go to the city due to the fact that it makes me feel like a ragamuffin as i wander around amongst all the suits! But this is a very good reason to detour. I treated myself in Quinto and Skoob this week, it's definitely been that kind of weather. I hope you bought something lovely to welcome the new Daunt!

  8. I had to make my usual pilgrimage to the original Daunt while I was in London last week. But then I ran into one of their shops by chance, on Fulham Road I think. I did some major damage to my credit card while there. I am going to blog soon about what I spent my money on.

  9. Hi Hannah,

I love it when unknown treasures are uncovered, long may the indie bookstore reign!

Funnily enough, this is my second discovery of the day. A fellow blogger just posted about this little gem:
